‘Dorothy’ is born from an earlier project, ‘Now That We’re Grown-ups’.  Although both are constructed narratives, I am revisiting one of the characters and expanding upon one of the issues denoted in the previous project.  In ‘Now That We’re Grown-ups’, the isolation of an older woman eating dinner alone served to denote the rise in elderly women living alone, and self-reflective feelings of isolation and vulnerability.  'Dorothy' expands upon this theme. However the focus here is on vulnerability itself, and the audience’s engagement with how she interacts with her living environment, rather than offering an insight into her thoughts.
